In association with Magpie Recycling Co-operative and East Sussex Sustainable Business Partnership this project offers a new recycling service aimed particularly at small businesses along the East Sussex coast. It can be difficult for businesses generating small amounts of waste to arrange recycling collections, but Magpie Recycling is now offering a cost-effective service covering a wide range of recyclable materials. As you may be aware the landfill tax is currently £24 per tonne and it is increasing to £32 per tonne from 1 April 2008. This will inevitably mean higher general waste disposal charges. The only way to beat this rise is to reduce your waste or increase recycling, since recycling is exempt from the tax.
